Kenya and Nigeria added to Barcelona beer roster

Barcelona have expanded their regional sponsorship agreement with Castle Lager, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The lager brand already serves as the official beer of the La Liga club in the majority of the African continent, but has now elected to add Kenya and Nigeria to the territories in which it can market the association.

SAB Miller, the parent company of the Castle Lager brand, originally partnered with FC Barcelona in 2013, in what was the first sponsorship agreement for the club with an African company.

The two parties signed a three-year deal that also saw SAB Miller's Castle Milk Stout brand become the official African stout of FC Barcelona in territories not covered by the lager agreement.

"Africa is becoming a very important player in the world of football, with millions of fans following the best players around the world, and also thanks to the continent's fabulous talent," said Laurent Colette, FC Barcelona's chief commercial officer.

"Through our association with Castle, we are getting closer to Africa and providing more communication platforms between FC Barcelona and African fans."
