Keegan demands strong finish from Newcastle players

Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan is demanding his players finish the season with a flourish.

KK explained: "We need a good end to the season so that when the players come back from their break, there is something that shows this club is on the move upwards.

"And once this clubs gets on the move upwards, it can do it quicker than most, because of things like the fan base, the city, the area we live in.

"It's a bit like riding a tiger. More here than at other clubs. I know - I've done it before.

"It's a special club. I keep telling the players that when they manage to turn things it will take off quicker than at any other club. It's vitally important we finish on a high. This cannot be a great season for Newcastle - it couldn't be when I came through the door in January.

"The chairman and the owner said the bonuses were massive - but I couldn't have won any of them really! There was the FA Cup, but we had already been drawn against Arsenal away."
