Keane ready to cash in on Sunderland fringe players

Sunderland boss Roy Keane admits he could cash in on several players in January.

Of the players who could be allowed to go, leading the list will be Graham Kavanagh and David Connolly but others whose days look to be numbered on Wearside are veteran defender Stan Varga and loaned-out players Marton Fulop and Stephen Wright.

Keane said: "We are talking about the money I have to spend, but we are also trying to generate a few bob, and I might have to look at letting one or two go next month.

"We have got players like Graham and Dave who have not been getting games, then there's Stephen Wright who is due back, there's Marton Fulop and big Stan returning.

"These lads haven't played much football and I can understand if there are inquiries coming in for these players because of that.

"You can't just stand in their way if they want to play games, that's a natural thing and it's something we have to look at."
