Kean delighted with talent coming through Blackburn youth system

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is delighted with the talent coming through their youth system.

Kean is hoping that the success stories of the likes of Phil Jones, Martin Olsson, Junior Hoilett and Grant Hanley can inspire the club's fledgling stars to break into the senior squad.

"I think that is certainly a thread that we are going to try and run through the whole club," Kean told the Rovers website.

"I had a good meeting with Phil Cannon our Academy manager.

"We've got promotion from the youth ranks coming through and up into the Reserves and that is something we'd like to continue.

"If any of the Academy lads are good enough, it doesn't matter what their age is, they'll be pulled up to the Senior Training Centre and they'll train up here with us.

"That is something that I will always push for - to get the young guys coming through and being a massive part of the club."
