Kean admits Blackburn need Dunn passion to beat drop

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean was delighted with David Dunn's influence in their draw with Aston Villa.

Dunn's half-time introduction had fired up Rovers after what boss Kean admitted was a dismal first-half display - and Kean acknowledged the value of his home-grown star in their ongoing relegation fight.

Kean said: "David was disappointed he could not play the whole game because he picked up a nasty little thigh strain, but the medical team told me he was good for the second half.

"David is Blackburn through and through, and his whole family have been Blackburn fans all their lives. He knows what it means to us to score goals, and it was a very important one for us."
