Kane confident Tottenham can dampen Liverpool introduction for Klopp

Tottenham striker Harry Kane says Spurs are determined to ruin Jurgen Klopp's first match in charge of Liverpool on Saturday.

Kane said he expected Liverpool to come out firing for the fixture at White Hart Lane, buoyed by the arrival of their new manager.

However, the 22-year-old is adamant that Spurs are capable of matching the intensity and effort of their opponents as they look to continue their seven-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

"I think we've out-run every team we have played this season. That's a sign we're playing the manager's tactics right and we are fit enough to do it. So it's a case of doing it again on Saturday," Kane said, as quoted by the Daily Express.

"Obviously Liverpool are going to have a new manager and they will be up for it. In the first couple of game everybody tries to impress so they will probably have that little five per cent extra than usual. We expect that.

"But, like I said, we have out-run every team we have played and will be looking to do so again. The Liverpool players at England could not wait to get back to start working under him. But I am focused on Tottenham and what we have to do."
