Younes Kaboul was over the moon after being appointed as Tottenham captain on Monday.
The French centre-half has been handed the captain's armband following the departure of Michael Dawson to Hull City earlier this summer and was delighted to be added to the great names before him who have skippered the north London club.
"I am delighted to have been given this responsibility," said Kaboul.
"To follow in the footsteps of some of the legendary captains that have represented this football club is a fantastic honour.
"It is a great achievement for me on a personal level and I hope to help lead this team to great things in the future."
Kaboul initially started with Spurs in 2007 before moving to Portsmouth in 2008 but returned to White Hart Lane in January 2010.
