Juventus striker Amauri has hit back at Sampdoria's Giampaolo Pazzini over claims he doesn't deserve an Italy call.

Pazzini has expressed his concern at the Brazilian getting a call for the Italian national team and felt he should not be considered by Marcello Lippi.

"I took my decision one year ago," said Amauri. "I preferred Italy over Brazil, regardless of when my passport would be ready.

"So since I respect everybody else's opinion, even the one of Pazzini, I will pretend to be treated the same way."
