Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon is delighted with the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as new coach.

"I think he's the right choice, a shrewd appointment," noted the No 1 from Italy's international training camp. "I'd already said the same recently and although I don't directly know Ranieri, he is a man with the right image.

"He has experience abroad, he knows how to deal with the media and he's proven his capabilities in difficult situations."
