Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi attracted enquiries from Barcelona and Manchester United towards the end of last season, it has been revealed.
United and Barca were eager to find a new midfield addition and Calciomercato.com says they approached Juve over a price for Matuidi - but were given short shrift.
Eventually, United swooped for Shakhtar Donetsk ace Fred, while Barca brought forward their plans to add Gremio midfielder Arthur to their squad.
Matuidi, 31, left PSG for Juve last year and went onto win the Serie A title and in the summer the World Cup with France.
