Juventus get drastic: Player pay suspended until form improves

There are reports in this morning's Italian press that Juventus are suspending players' pay until results improve. Both La Stampa and Gazzetta dello Sport say Juve president Jean-Claude Blanc and director Roberto Bettega held a fiery meeting with the players yesterday.

It was the first time they had touched base since Saturday's 3-0 thrashing at Udinese and it's claimed that during the exchange, Blanc , supported by Bettega, told the players their pay would be suspended until they started producing performances that warrant their wages.

The incredible wash up is this: until Sunday, at least, Juve player pay is suspended until "you show commitment and professionalism" expected of Bianconeri players.
