Juventus fullback Danilo insists players accepted ritiro

Juventus fullback Danilo insists team spirit remains strong despite their poor season so far.

Juve have collected just 15 points in 11 Serie A games and are 16 points off leaders AC Milan and Napoli.

Ahead of their Champions League clash with Zenit, Danilo said: “The game against Zenit comes at the right moment, it will be a difficult game.

“The squad is united, we are all focused on the same targets, now we need to relax and win tomorrow."

The Brazil international also insists the players accepted ritiro this week.

“We had to leave our families and we know what we are going through. It's ok to stay together, discuss football for the club," the defender said.

“We want to do well and improve, we know it's necessary to improve, that's why nobody said anything when they informed us about it. We need to have the right mentality to win tomorrow."
