Juventus are considering a summer move for Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing.

Tuttosport says the England international is under consideration by Juve management as a replacement for Pavel Nedved, who announced his planned retirement yesterday.

Former Juve coach Fabio Capello has been won over by Downing this season and Bianconeri directors have asked the England boss for information on the left-sided midfielder.

Franco Baldini, the England team manager, has also been pumped for information on Downing, who was the subject of a series of offers from Tottenham last month.
