Justen Kranthove proud of Leicester deal after Dutch rejection

Justen Kranthove is thrilled to have taken the plunge with Leicester City.

The 18 year-old defender was snapped up from AFC '34 by the Foxes for their U18 team.

Spotted at the Youdan Trophy in the summer of 2016, Kranthove received interest from Wolves, Watford and Notts County, but accepted an offer from Leicester City.

He told Voetbalzone: "Leicester offered me a multi-year, professional contract because they were convinced of my qualities in both football and personal terms.

"Of course you dream of that, but I am a realist and I know that I still have a long way to go. My development and growth are paramount and we'll see how far we can go."

Kranthove was rejected after trials with AZ, FC Groningen and Almere City before landing his Foxes contract.

"I have no idea what it was about," he added.

"Of course I always had the ambition to play at a professional club in the Netherlands. But now I want to focus on my development at Leicester. I play in a great team and the club is great to work for."
