Julio Sergio says Roma players can be proud of campaign

Roma players say they're proud of their season's efforts.

Roma finished runners up to champions Inter Milan and also lost the Coppa Italia final to Jose Mourinho's team.

"We fought hard and gave it our best. It was a great season and an incredible fightback," said goalkeeper Julio Sergio. "Of course we're disappointed, as we wanted to win and hoped Siena would help us out with a result against Inter today, but that's the way it goes.

"I'd give Roma a 9.5 out of 10 for their campaign and if the Scudetto had arrived it would've been a perfect 10.

"I am happy with what I have achieved and waited so long for this chance," said the man who started the season as third choice goalkeeper.

"We have been able to qualify for the Champions League and have a good squad to go into Europe."
