The uncle of Marcos Llorente was proud of his nephew after his performance for Atletico Madrid at Liverpool.

Llorente scored twice as Atletico won the second-leg of their Champions League round 16 encounter 3-2 at Anfield to reach the quarterfinals 4-2 on aggregate.

"I didn't even think Marcos was going to get on," Julio Llorente said on Radio MARCA.

"When Marcos scored his first goal, I jumped up at home.

"When he scored the second, I went to wake my daughters up."

Former fullback Julio Llorente played for Real Madrid and Tenerife in a 15 year career.
