Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar feels they reasserted their authority after victory over AC Milan.
Despite Wesley Sneijder's dismissal in the first half-hour, Inter defeated Milan 2-0 with Diego Milito and Goran Pandev, as Ronaldinho's penalty was saved.
Julio Cesar said: "I asked what Sneijder had said and I don't think it was a reason to send him off, but this incident allowed us to once again prove our strength."
Ronaldinho had the chance to pull one back in stoppages, but Julio Cesar saved his penalty.
"Tonight this was a great performance. I am happy as today I was able to give my contribution against a team that is growing over the course of the season.
"I must give credit to my teammates, as it's not easy to play with 10 men for practically the entire match.
"My teammates proved tonight and showed to everyone just how strong this squad is. Compliments to everyone, it was a marvellous derby."
