Juan Mata has taken a massive pay-cut to sign a new deal with Manchester United.
The Sun says the Spaniard, 31, agreed a 25 per cent reduction, from £180,000-a-week to £135,000, to seal a two-year deal rather than one.
A source said: “Juan loves playing at United and is happy in Manchester.
“He feared he would need to move because he didn't want to sign for just 12 months. But his advisors and the club hammered out a deal."
Mata signed from Chelsea in 2014 for £37.1million.
