Standard Liege striker Milan Jovanovic is facing criticism in Belgium ahead of his proposed summer switch to Liverpool.

The Serbia striker has struggled for form since admitting he is set to join Liverpool under the Bosman Ruling.

"Whoever says that my head is focused on the World Cup or Liverpool knows nothing," he stormed. "You only need to look at my stats to see how many miles I run and how hard I work.

"No-one can reproach me.

"It is all too easy to criticise me. My head isn't in Liverpool or at the World Cup. Until the last day, my heart is with Standard."
