Portsmouth assistant boss Joe Jordan is full of praise for Benji Mwaruwari as they prepare to travel to the Zimbabwe striker's Manchester City.
Jordan said: "I think Benji delivered here, no question of that. He played a key part in us staying up, but I think he also played a key part in the progress we have shown in recent times. Benji was a big favourite here and rightly so.
"Not only did he score the goals but he worked and people appreciate players that work for the team and show commitment - and he showed that in every single game. Whether the goals were going in or not, I don't think anyone was holding it against Benji. The goals he did score we're thoroughly deserved, he worked for them and got on a run.
"It's not easy sometimes coming from a different team, certainly from a different country. It takes a bit of time to settle in and that's happened to a lot of great players. Benji came here and took a bit of time to settle in but from day one he was a bit of an idol and eventually got his goals."
