Jong Tae-se proves immediate winner with VfL Bochum

North Korea international Jong Tae-se made an immediate impact with German 2.Bundesliga club VfL Bochum on Monday night.

The 26-year old, who recently joined Bochum from J-League outfit Kawasaki Frontale, netted twice as his new club defeated 1860 Munich 3-2 in their opening match of the season and he was thrilled after his debut.

"I am very happy because we won, and of course about my two goals as well," said Jong.

Bochum boss Friedhelm Funkel said his new signing could still improve despite proving the difference in the win.

"He needs a little more time. You could see that he was exhausted after 65 to 70 minutes," Funkel said.

And Jong revealed his plans for the season - both personal and from a team perspective.

"I want to score many goals for Bochum and would like to become (second division) top scorer. But promotion is more important and I believe in it," he told Bild am Sonntag.
