Jol delighted as ADO Den Haag snap up Chelsea wing-back Juan Familia-Castillo

Chelsea wing-back Juan Familia-Castillo is happy with his move to ADO Den Haag.

Familia-Castillo joins Den Haag after his loan with AZ Alkmaar was cut short. He managed one appearance for AZ in the Eredivisie this season, spending the majority of his time with the club's reserves.

The young wing-back is hoping for more playing chances with ADO Den Haag.

"I want to show myself at the highest level and ADO Den Haag is a good club for that. Because I already know a lot of guys, I will certainly feel at home soon," Familia-Castillo said on the ADO club website via Voetbalzone. "I am an attacking player who likes to be on the ball and also holds his own in duels."

Familia-Castillo has a contract with Chelsea to 2022. His loan spell at ADO Den Haag will run to June.

Martin Jol, ADO technical chief, sees the acquisition as a 'versatile left leg'. Jol, formerly manager of Tottenham and Fulham in England, took charge of football matters at ADO Den Haag last season while Alan Pardew was in charge.

"It is a good sign that a superpower like Chelsea sees our club as a good platform for the further growth of a promising talent. We hope that Juan will play an important role on our left. With his technique and creativity, the ingredients are available to help us in the fight for survival in the Eredivisie," said Jol.

ADO Den Haag currently sit third from bottom on the Eredivisie table, though won their last game 1-0 at RKC Waalwijk.
