Johnson ready to grab new Chelsea chance

Glen Johnson is determined to re-establish himself at Chelsea.

The England right-back spent last season on-loan at Portsmouth and is in line to face Manchester United in Sunday's Community Shield.

He said: "It is good to be back. I just want to play football and after a season of playing regularly I want to keep going. I enjoyed myself at Portsmouth and had a great time. The most important thing was to get some playing time. I had a fair few chats with Jose and we will see what happens.

"There is a real opportunity for me now. There were a few players who played in my position last season and that is quite encouraging. I had a good season personally and I am determined to carry that on. I am confident in my ability and feel I have proved myself in the Premiership. Now I need to start well and carry it on."
