Joe Cole World Cup hopes on line today for Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole's World Cup dream is in the hands of Carlo Ancelotti's team selection today against Manchester City.

England coach Fabio Capello will hope to assess Cole ahead of naming his squad for the match with Egypt.

The Italian plans to choose between Cole and City's Shaun Wright-Phillips for the Wembley friendly in midweek.

And if the Blues midfielder finds himself on the bench again, he may miss out on another chance to show Capello what he can do.

its nt abt who pays his wages, bt look, to all footballers, World Cup is their biggest dream, everyone wants to play in the world cup.even me, my dream is to go to the world cup.too bad im nt english or argentine or portuguese.its their dream.nt abt who pays his wages.

Ancelotti must be aghast. He learned English, only to find himself reading the turgid dirt put out by the English press about Terry and Cole etc etc. Can you imagine what he must think of the mentality of the fools who ask him questions at press conferences? What a vile time it must be, having to be civil to the low-life hacks that only seek to stir up trouble.
If they ask about Cole, it isn't a search for insights – its just another means of putting pressure on, to destabilize and mock. Football journalism in this country is becoming abhorent.

Forget abt the WCup. We need him to play well for us. CFC pays
his wages not Eng.
