Jets skipper to become indigenous ambassador in Townsville

Newcastle Jets skipper Jade North will move to new A-League club North Queensland's Townsville base at the end of the current season. After signing a three-year deal worth more than a million dollars with North Queensland FC to become their marquee player, North revealed a main reason for the move.

North plans to become an indigenous ambassador and will help out indigenous youth in the local region.

"I loved every minute playing with Newcastle but I have always wanted to give something back to my community," he said.
