Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome expects manager Alex McLeish to buy big in January.
Jerome said: "The manager and his staff will have ideas in their head of whom they want to bring in and whom they want to get rid of. As a player you just get on with it until you get the call and are told you are not needed.
"There are rumours about one or two going out of the door the other way (Martin Taylor and Neil Danns) so I think he will have one eye on bringing in players to strengthen the squad.
"Hopefully he can do that and if he brings the right people in, it can only be a help to the boys and you never know then what we can achieve.
"We are trying to survive in this league and, if he can get in two or three players who will make a real difference, that will be welcome."
Jerome added: "I would relish the challenge if the manager brought a new striker in. Just having the three strikers is not enough. You need to have at least four strikers.
"Rotation is part and parcel of football and you have just got to get on with it and he picks the best players at the end of the week for a particular game."
