Jeremy Helan features for Man City U18

Manchester City fielded controversial French signing Jeremy Helan in their U18 draw with Sheffield United.

Helan is the subject of a transfer row with Rennes, but was impressive in the 1-1 draw. Another French teen, Emerick Hippias made his debut, having been signed in the summer from FC Mantois 78.

Academy coach Andy Welsh told City's website: "We were positive throughout and given that we had a couple of first-year scholars in the side I thought we coped excellently against a tough team. Our midfield three of Mitchell, Benali and Elabdellaoui stepped it up in the second half and Jeremy Helan was a real threat down the left flank. Emerick Hippias also looked right at home when we brought him for his debut with the Under 18s."

WE seem to have gone backwards since Welsh took over and as for Helan being a controversial signing, could this be the same Rennes that have been found guilty by the French FA of stealing other clubs players?
