Japan national team coach Takeshi Okada is still targeting a semi-final berth for his team at next month's World Cup in South Africa.
Following the 2-0 home defeat at the hands of South Korea on Monday, Okada maintained the stance that the Blue Samurai still had their goals set on making the final four of the competition.
"We want to demonstrate what we have as Japanese. There's no use in changing our goal. We will aim for a last-four spot," Okada told reporters. "We want to raise our condition first of all and regain our offensive rhythm."
Japan take on Holland, Denmark and Cameroon in Group E of the World Cup which kicks off in less than three weeks. Japan's first group stage match is against Cameroon in Free State on June 14.
