Everton skipper Phil Jagielka captained the Three Lions for the first time in the 3-0 win against Lithuania in Euro2016 qualifying on Monday night.
The 33-year-old became the first Everton player to do so and after the game thanked his teammates for their support.
"I've had some fantastic text messages before the game, I was a little bit nervier than I would be previously but it was nice to get the win," he said.
"I can thank the boys for giving me a 3-0 win and enjoy the rest of the night."
England finished off their campaign with a 100% win record from their 10 group stage fixtures, achieving the accomplishment for the first time in the country's history.
