Joan Laporta has moved closer to declaring for the Barcelona presidential election. Laporta, reports AS, has added Victor Font to his team to become their new financial director.

The move is a sure sign the former Barca president is ready to announce he will stand for this summer's election.

Font made his commitment after months of talks and planning with Laporta involving staffing and plans for the club's future.

Laporta left the office in 2010.
