Fabio Cannavaro says he will advise former Italy teammate Andrea Pirlo to come to Australia to play before his career is over.
The former Parma, Juventus, Real Madrid and Inter Milan defender was recently in Australia for a promotional tour and told au.fourfourtwo.com that he would be spreading the good word to ex-AC Milan and current Juventus star Pirlo about the A-League following the positive debut season at Sydney FC by fellow Azzurri great Alessandro Del Piero.
"Of course! Alessandro has set a path for many Italian players," Cannavaro said.
"[Sydney FC ] is now a name in Italy and players and the fans are watching him. It is not so hard to see further interest will come from professionals in Italy."
