Italy coach Luciano Spalletti is happy to have Nicolo Zaniolo involved this week.

Spalletti called up Zaniolo despite the former Roma attacker being involved in Italy's illegal betting investigation.

Spalletti explained on Monday: "Zaniolo has always said that he played on things you can bet on and continued to say that he was clean about the accusations.

"Before calling him I spoke to the Federation and there was nothing that prevented calling him."

Italy face two huge Euro2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine over the next week.
