Italy coach Mancini insists Joao Pedro and Luiz Felipe worthy of calls

Italy coach Roberto Mancini says Cagliari striker Joao Pedro and Lazio defender Luiz Felipe are worthy of their call-ups.

For this week's training camp, among the new faces called are Joao Pedro and Luiz Felipe, both recently securing Italian passports.

“Joao Pedro has been in Italy for many years, he has good technical qualities and if he's here," said Mancini, "it's because he can do a job.

“We consider Luiz Felipe to be a great defender who can have a real future with the Italy squad."

On the future of Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne, who will join Toronto FC in June, Mancini added: “I don't know what Lorenzo will do. We have the games in March and June, he'll still be here, then there's a window in September and the World Cup, but talking about it now seems premature."
