Italy coach Conte unsure of future beyond Euros

Italy coach Antonio Conte says his future will depend on their Euro results.

Conte took over the job after the World Cup in 2014, but has been linked with an exit after the European Championships in France this summer.

“I feel very good in the role of CT, and I'm happy with the work I'm doing," Conte explained in his Press conference ahead of the Romania friendly.

“I didn't expect to be able to develop a specific work in such a short space of time with these players, that's gratifying and gives me satisfaction.

“That said, there will be time to talk to the Federation, but I also know that a lot will depend on the outcome, how things go.

“I'm thinking about what happened a year-and-a-half ago: [Cesare] Prandelli signed a contract renewal and after two months was forced to resign because it didn't go well.

“We're slaves the result, our work is evaluated by results and after that there'll be time for everything else."
