Manchester United are holding back on new contract talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Sunday Mirror says United will offer Ibrahimovic their full medical support in his year-long fight to save his career.
However, they will now withdraw their offer to trigger an extra one-year contract.
But while Ibra has played his final game for the club - despite a season which has seen him score 28 goals - United feel the have a duty of care to oversee his rehabilitation.
A source said: “Zlatan will be given the club's support throughout his rehabilitation.
“If that means helping him beyond the final few months of his contract then that will happen."
