It's done? Benfica (& Almeria) happy with latest Liverpool offer for Darwin Nunez

Benfica are ready to sell Darwin Nunez to Liverpool after being left satisfied with the Reds' latest offer.

Record says the transfer could be completed in the next few days. Almeria is entitled to 20 per cent of the value of the player's transfer.

Nunez is now very close to becoming a Liverpool player and in the process becoming the second biggest sale in Portuguese history.

The Reds have intensified talks in the last few hours, reaching the numbers that Benfica has sought: €80m plus €20 of add-ons.

A move away for Nunez was expected, but the destination was unknown. His outstanding season at Benfica did not go unnoticed by the biggest and most powerful clubs in Europe, especially their excellent campaign in the Champions League, after getting knocked out of the quarter-finals.

The Uruguayan striker showed his quality in the Champions League, scoring six goals. Two [goals] against Barcelona, two against Liverpool, one against Bayern Munich and one against Ajax.
