Islam Slimani has pledged to fight for his place at Newcastle United.
A niggling thigh injury has dampened the Algerian's progress since he joined the Magpies on loan from Leicester City last month.
He is yet to make an appearance for Rafa Benitez's side, but Slimani isn't letting his injury concerns deter him from making an impression at St. James' Park.
"I like to play regularly. That's what my aim is and that's what I have always wanted to do," Slimani told Chronicle Live.
"I am going to fight for my place and be able to play as much as possible. Football is my passion and I want to show what I can do."
