Islam Feruz was the difference for Chelsea in the first-leg of their FA Youth Cup semifinal at Manchester United.
With scores at 1-1, the controversial signing from Celtic hit a 25 yard screamer to take a 2-1 lead back home to London.
Chelsea had started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead early on when Lucas Piazon teed up Amin Affane.
The hosts grew into the game in the second half and equalised just after the hour mark through midfielder James Wilson, but their joy was short-lived as Feruz stepped up to settle the match.
