Irony? West Ham fear missing millions from Haksabanovic Rubin Kazan deal

West Ham United fear they're set to miss out on millions from the Russian transfer of Sead Haksabanovic.

The striker is now with Celtic, after leaving Rubin Kazan.

BBC Sport says West Ham are due a cut of the fee from Haksabanovic's transfer to Rubin Kazan from IFK Norrkoping.

Haksabanovic, 23, left IFK for Rubin Kazan in the summer 2021.

The Swedish club has not yet been fully paid. The political situation in Russia due to the war in Ukraine makes it difficult to demand the money.

IFK chairman Sakarias Mårdh has previously stated that the case was taken to CAS, the sports arbitration court.

Now it's claimed in England that West Ham is entitled to a cut of Haksabanovic's fee due to a resale clause.

Interestingly, CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow have made the same claims against West Ham for outstanding money owed over the respective deals for Nikola Vlasic and Alex Kral. West Ham have argued to FIFA that Russia's financial sanctions have prevented them from fulfilling their commitment.
