Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni believes Inter Milan can shock Liverpool tonight in their Champions League return-leg clash.

Inter must overhaul a 2-0 deficit, but Trapattoni insists: "Inter must score in the first part of the game.

"It certainly won't be easy, but Inter can do it thanks to the support of their fans and the pride in their players. They have a 50 per cent chance of scoring twice against Liverpool."

Inter dominated the Italian top-flight last season and rightly won comparisons with Trap's mythical side of the late 1980s.

"My Inter side was a great team," continued the former Milan midfielder. "But I'd put the two teams on the same level when you take into consideration the two eras."
