Ipswich hopeful loanee Fulham keeper Stockdale staying

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell is not expecting Fulham to recall on-loan keeper David Stockdale. There were fears that Martin Jol would bring Stockdale back to Craven Cottage after Mark Schwarzer suffered a head and back injury in their Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The 26-year-old joined the Tractor Boys on a season-long loan at the start of the season, but can return to his parent club with just 24 hours' notice.

Jewell told the Green'Un24: "We were made aware that Mark (Schwarzer) hurt his back but, touch wood, we haven't heard anything from Fulham.

"We are completely at their mercy, they hold a 24-hour recall clause and that is constantly a thought in our minds.

"I wouldn't say we have a replacement lined up because that is very difficult, but we have targets and I think it's really important we are proactive in the eventuality anything happens."
