Sunderland target Nacho Scocco is a transfer target for former club Newell's Old Boys according to president Guillermo Lorente.
The 28-year old Internacional striker has already had two spells with Argentine side Newell's but it is believed that they want to take him back to Rosario from Brazil and under the nose of Black Cats boss Gus Poyet who is showing considerable interest.
"Ignacio Scocco is very interested in returning to Newell's and likewise, Newell's are very interested in bringing him back," Lorente told Radio La Red.
"We are paying close attention to the situation; we know the player is important for the club."
