Inter Milan are ready to offer £40 million for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.
The News of the World says former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will get major financial backing during the summer and a £40 million swoop for the Manchester City striker is on the cards.
Benitez was keen to sign the Argentina international during his Anfield days but never had the funds to compete for his signature.
City might be prepared to do business - particularly if they can complete their own ambitious move to sign Liverpool's Fernando Torres.
And Benitez will be keen to make a rapid swoop for Tevez if, as expected, Inter lose their main hitman Diego Milito to Real Madrid.
A swap deal with Milito joining City and Tevez switching to Inter cannot be ruled out.
