Inter Milan striker Esposito emotional after first goal; thanks Lukaku

Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito was floating after a first senior goal in their 4-0 rout of Genoa.

This also marked his first start, aged just 17 years and 172 days, as Romelu Lukaku gave him the penalty in the win.

“I just saw my Mum in the stands and the goal is for her. I thank the club, all my teammates and friends," he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I won't deny, I didn't sleep at all last night. I spent the whole night thinking about what would happen today and I could not have dreamed a more wonderful evening.

“I thank the coach again for giving me this opportunity and I hope to continue like this. All the sacrifices I made are now paying off. I am reaping the rewards of what I sowed growing up, training after school, those sandwiches I had to eat.

“I have a lot of work still to do, of course."

Esposito added: “Romelu is a fantastic person as well as being an extraordinary player. He told me, just go out there, make a decision and hit the ball."
