Inter Milan skipper Zanetti: Gasperini did not speak to players after defeat

Inter Milan skipper Javier Zanetti admits the players did not hear from coach Gian Piero Gasperini after last night's shock defeat to Novara.

Gasperini is overseeing Inter's worst start to a season in modern times and could be sacked this morning.

"It' a difficult time. We have good intentions, but we are not succeeding on the field. During the week there is commitment and sacrifice, but now nothing works when we play.

"Where do we go from here? Work, train and talk to eachother to get out of this negative malaise.

"Gasperini? He did not say anything to us, but we will talk when we are all calmer."

It is only 18 months ago that Inter were crowned European champions and Zanetti added: "True, but the fans should understand that this is football and these moments can happen. There is nothing running in the right direction."
