Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has again insisted he is serious about trying for Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Messi claimed earlier this week that Moratti's interest was a "joke".
But Inter's No1 declared: "Messi was very nice with his comments, from what has been reported it seems that he does not believe me, he said it was a joke.
"But with jokes you never know how they end up."
Asked whether he would be joining the race for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Moratti replied: "Rooney leaving Manchester? At the moment I think of the game with Tottenham, I do not believe him."
