Inter Milan, Man Utd new leaders in Krasic battle

Inter Milan are battling Manchester United for CSKA Moscow winger Milos Krasic.

The Sunday Mirror says former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez took over at the San Siro last week and is already lining up a list of signings for the European champions. Top of his list is CSKA Moscow winger Krasic, who Benitez pursued while he was at Liverpool and has long been on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar.

Signing Krasic would also strike a blow to Inter's Serie A rivals Juventus, who were confident of sealing a £14m swoop for the 25-year-old Serbian last week but were unable to agree a fee with CSKA.

"Rafa wanted Milos when he was at Liverpool and now he is at Inter they have made a written offer," said Krasic's agent Dejan Joksimovic.

"We have been in negotiations with Juventus as well, but Inter are coming to Moscow to speak to his club about him in the next few days. There was interest from the top clubs in England, but they weren't quick enough.

"It is almost 100 per cent Milos will be going to Italy."
