Inter Milan striker Alexis Sanchez is set to return to Manchester United next month.

Inter were hopeful of keeping hold of Sanchez until the end of the season, but United are not willing to extend the deal past its June 30 expiry.

Both clubs are still involved in the Europa League and Sky Italia says United do not want Inter to be strengthened by having Sanchez in their ranks.

Instead the 31-year-old will return to Carrington when his loan reaches its conclusion, playing no further part in Inter's season.

That will come as a blow to Inter boss Antonio Conte, who was planning on using Sanchez in their remaining games.
