Inter Milan director Ausilio: Lukaku? When you hide or send answers through other people...

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio says Romelu Lukaku now belongs in the past.

Inter admits there's disappointment with the Roma striker, but says there's no reason for regret over the Chelsea-owned player.

He told Radio Serie A: "Was Lukaku a disappointment? I prefer not to talk about a player who is from another club, I've never done so in recent months.

"I'm just saying that I like to think about the present and the future, and Lukaku is part of the past: with him we won a Scudetto, he brought us a significant capital gain, and we lost two finals.

"I prefer not to talk about it. I'm just saying that there must be education and respect: things were moving forward, it's clear, but at a certain point they stopped working. There are operations that don't go through, but if there is respect it's not never a problem. When you hide or send answers through other people, you think about moving on. For me it's a chapter closed since July 8th: there's no regrets."

Ausilio confirmed he made a strong phone call to Lukaku at the time.

"No... It was a firm phone call, but nothing special. I told Romelu what I thought, after I couldn't listen to him for some time."
