Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri was happy with Mateo Kovacic's performance in victory over Sampdoria.

Kovacic received a rare start and impressed in midfield.

Mazzarri said: "If I let him play, it's because I saw he had improved. He has learned what I want from him, he played for the team and can do it even better. He's very young, so I am convinced he can only improve and grow to become a champion."
